Under Construction - 1st Trimester

One trimester down, two to go! I know some pregnant woman maybe thrilled to get out of their first trimester, but I really can't complain. Yes, I had the common fatigue, tenderness (you know where), & food aversions, but for the most part I felt great. So far I've loved every minute of being pregnant and knowing there's a miracle growing inside of me.

Our baby has grown & developed so much over the past twelve weeks. Most of the baby's organs are fully formed and our baby is now measuring approximately three inches (about the size of a peach). Such developements have already occured including the heart, lungs, head, arms, legs, hair follicles, finger & toe nails, as well as the vocal cords, just to name a few. Currently the bone marrow is making white blood cells to one day help our child fight off infections. Pretty cool, huh?! What to Expect says the second trimester is the "maintenance phase"...I'm just hoping it goes as smoothly as the first!
