The past couple times we've seen Dr. Horlacher I've enjoyed asking him random questions I've learned through reading my "What to Expect" book/daily emails (although I'm quite sure he doesn't feel the same - lol). Today I asked "Is it true if I measure three inches below my belly button I can feel my uterus?" He slightly laughed (implying the answer was no). He was probably thinking:
- "This girl is crazy. Where does she come up with this stuff?!"
- "She NEEDS to stop reading the internet!!!"
- "Why does she always ask so many questions?"
Truthfully I don't ask Dr. Horlacher strange questions to annoy him (although I'm sure he probably thinks so), it's mainly because I'm extremely curious b/c so much going on inside my body and it's a new and exciting world to me. However, because Dr. Horlacher wanted to make sure he was telling me the truth he measured and sure enough I was right. Three inches exactly!!! The great thing about Dr. Horlacher is his sense of humor...he jokes with Dave & I a lot. Besides the fact Dr. Horlacher comes highly recommended, he's such an easy person to talk to which is why I'm so comfortable with him delivering our child and taking care of me during my pregnancy. My 20th week appointment is on September 11. It will be incredible not only to know the gender of our baby, but to also be able to see him/her for the very FIRST time!!!
Tonight Dave & I went to the Dave Matthews Band concert at Riverbend in Cincinnati. It was perfect timing - according to "What To Expect" our baby can hear my voice and loud noises (i.e., dogs barking, etc)...so technically I guess you could say it was our child's first DMB concert - LOL!
Prior to the concert we tailgated with one of my best friends, Jessica and her husband Kevin. It's always a blast tailgating/hanging out with other DMB fans before entering the concert. When I think of summer, I think of two things - laying out & Dave concerts. The concert was unbelievable, one of the best shows we've EVER seen! To top it off, our seats were incredible. Dave randomly found tickets for us on eBay in the "Pit" section (which are located in front of the front row)! The set list was awesome!!! Originally DMB scheduled to play 20 songs, however when the crowd started chanting "Halloween" he added the song to the set list to make it 21. It was AMAZING! For some of you less die hard DMB fans, Dave rarely plays Halloween, so it was an awesome experience to witness. Ironically, about 3/4 of the way through the song I felt our baby move for the very first time. It felt like butterflies fluttering around in my stomach - I will never forget the feeling or the moment!
