My First Baby Shower...

Shower at DCC

Today my Mom, sister & Aunt hosted a baby shower for me at the Dayton Country Club. Everything was perfect! The room was decorated with some of Payton's nursery items from Restoration Hardware - Baby & Child. Each place setting on the table had a pink box with a little clear pacifier inside, a pink/brown name tag, pink napkin, & rattler. The centerpieces were cakes w/ brown icing and pink polka dots...they were adorable! Every detail was well precisely thought out (not that I expected anything less)!

Lunch was excellent! We had grilled chicken/salad/fruit. The presentation looked almost too good to eat!

After mingling and lunch we played a few games/activities. Since my Mom knows I'm not big on shower games she thought of just a few practical games even I'd be good at - LOL! The first activity was making Payton a bib. I thought this was such a cute idea. Everyone got a white bib and paint to decorate it however they wanted. They all turned out awesome! Next, we played the apple juice drinking game. The game where you fill up apple juice into a bottle to see who can drink it the fastest. My mother-in-law won! The last game was to predict what Payton will look like. Each table was given some baby/parenting magazines to cut out faces, eyes, noses, ears, etc. of what they think she's going to look like. They were all funny, but I could only pick one winner. The table with my Mom, my mother-in-law, Tanya, and both Grandmothers (Frantz/Borchers) won!

After the games were over we moved to the couches for gifts. Dave & I got A LOT of really nice gifts for Payton. Thank you to everyone who attended my shower and for the thoughtful gifts. I had a great time & hope you did as well. A VERY special thank you to my Mom/step-Dad for finishing my rocking horse. I was pleasantly surprised to see it painted and on display when I walked into the shower.
