Today was an exhausting but productive day. Thanks to Dave, my Mom & my step-Dad, our nursery is now painted a light shade of pink. Deciding on the right shade was a bit overwhelming (there are SO many different shades of pink and pink drys much differently on walls compared to how it looks on a swatch - just an fyi for anyone getting ready to paint a pink room). In the end, our nursery turned out just as I had envisioned. Payton's room is really starting to come together. Currently we are waiting for the rest of her bedding to arrive (it's on back order until mid October) and her furniture will arrive sometime in mid November. Again, I can't thank Dave, my Mom and Bill enough for their hard work. It was a long day.
In addition to painting the nursery, my Mom began painting a wood rocking horse I made in college. At EKU I took a class called Crafts for Kids (yes, this was a real class - LOL). Our final exam project was to create a rocking horse from start to finish. At the time, I made it just for the grade...I would have NEVER thought 7 years later I'd be adding it to my daughter's nursery! While Dave was dusting it off (prior to painting it), he saw I had signed the bottom of the horse "Natalie L. Frantz - '2001". He teased me for including my middle initial and I noticed I even put a fancy "z" on the end of Frantz - LOL! In addition, why I put a " ' " before 2001 I know grammatically doesn't make sense, but I remember back in the day it was my way of distinguishing it was something special to me. I know it may seem silly, but this horse means a lot to me and I hope it's something Payton will always cherish.
Due to the amount of detail the horse entailed to paint my Mom brought it home to finish. I can't wait to see it when she's done! I will post pictures soon.
