Last night Dave & I attended the breastfeeding class I signed us up for weeks ago. When I called to schedule, the lady I spoke with told me to bring my "support person". I assumed that person would be Dave. However, I was wrong. When Dave & I arrived at class last night I realized why the lady I spoke with didn't say "husband" or "significant other". Glancing over the room, most woman brought there best friends/Moms. There were only three guys in the room (including Dave). There was nothing we could do at this point - Dave was stuck.
I must admit I had a different impression of what breastfeeding class would be like. I've heard some horror stories, but luckily none were true and there was nothing to fear. Our instructor was super nice and very informative. Julie, our childbirth instructor was there as well to help assist with questions.
There are a lot of myths surrounding the topic of breastfeeding, so it was nice to find out the truth. Not all women can breastfeed for several different reasons, but I'm going to try. Originally, I was pretty against it. After listening to all the positives (and even some of the inconveniences), I want to do everything I can to provide the healthiest life for Payton!

You have a great attitude about breast feeding. We luckily had no problem, Ashlyn latched right on and eats like a champ. But i have several friends who didn't last long. Be prepared for anything, I think just trying is a great step!!!!
At our class only 3 of us didn't have our husbands with us, must have just been the night you were there.
