Catching Up!

Payton Caroline Schindler - 10 Months

Well, I still can't believe it's been 10 months since my last post. Life has changed a lot from my days of journaling about being pregnant. I'm now officially a Mommy...and loving every minute. Payton is amazing!!! Dave and I couldn't be prouder parents.

A couple of days ago I stumbled upon my old pregnancy blog (Schindler Baby). It was fun taking a trip down memory lane and reading old blogs. I also came across some old “drafts” that never got officially published. One I specifically found quite humorous, it was titled - “Walking Zombies”:

Payton is now three weeks old and over the past week Dave & I have really been working hard getting Payton on a schedule. It's difficult with her being so little, but we're trying. Being sleep deprived is definitely catching up with us. If we look exhausted, it's b/c we ARE! Unfortunately Payton has her days and nights mixed up and although I've been doing my best to keep her awake during the days while I'm off on maternity leave, it's been difficult. Sometimes I think a tornado could blow through our house and Payton still wouldn't wake up! At night, she's fussy and doesn't want to sleep. I’ve began singing “Just To See You Smile” by Tim McGraw when she cries and it seems to calm her – I think she likes it. Anyway, hopefully sleep habits change soon...

Thankfully we've come a long way since the sleepless nights! :)
I must admit, I've missed blogging. Journaling has always been a fun and creative outlet for me. I loved tracking/sharing my pregnancy experience. It's fun hearing friends who are pregnant now are reading my blog to know what's in store for them! :) But most of all, my hope is that Payton will one day read it all. I want her to know how blessed and excited I was to become her Mommy and how much I love her now that she’s come into our world!

Unfortunately, I can’t go back and journal all the milestones Payton has reached thus far, but I'm going to do my best to hit the main highlights:
